Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What makes Vitality Kauai different from other aesthetic practices on the island? At Vitality Kauai, our core difference lies in our physician-led, science-based approach to aesthetic medicine. Our practice was founded and is directed by Dr. Betty Dilley, a Board Certified Physician with 20 years of experience in Emergency Medicine. This deep medical expertise, shared by our entire team of seasoned healthcare professionals, establishes an unparalleled standard for safety, quality, and patient-centered care. We combine this medical credibility with a significant investment in a portfolio of best-in-class technologies to deliver beautiful, natural results.

Q: Who will be performing my treatment? At too many other Medical Spas, the Medical Director appears in name only. At Vitality Kauai, your care is in the hands of a highly credentialed and experienced medical team.

  • Dr. Betty Dilley: Founder and a Board Certified Physician who transitioned from a 20-year career in Emergency Medicine to focus on her passion for aesthetic medicine.

  • Kelly Barker, NP: A board-certified Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in high-acuity fields, including Critical Care and Surgery.

  • Mallory Hudson, RN: A Registered Nurse who brings 12 years of emergency medicine experience, complemented by 4 years of specialized laser expertise from a Beverly Hills Med Spa.

  • Chayil Christensen, LSO: A certified Laser Safety Officer who ensures our advanced laser treatments are performed with the highest level of technical precision and safety.

Q: What is your consultation process for new patients? Your journey with us begins with a comprehensive, one-on-one consultation with one of our expert providers. We take this time to understand your unique goals, answer your questions, and perform a thorough assessment to develop a personalized treatment plan. There is a $100 fee for this in-depth consultation, which will be credited toward any service you choose to receive with us.

Q: I have a darker skin tone. Is laser hair removal safe and effective for me? Yes. This is a key area where Vitality Kauai excels. We have invested in the Motus AY laser, which is a breakthrough technology for laser hair removal. It is the first high-speed Alexandrite laser that is safe and effective for all skin tones, including darker and tanned skin. Its proprietary MOVEO technology makes the treatment virtually painless and minimizes the risks of pigmentary changes that can be a concern with other lasers, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for every client.

Q: I want significant results for issues like sun damage and fine lines, but I can't afford a lot of downtime. What do you recommend? For this exact scenario, we recommend the Halo™ Hybrid Fractional Laser. Halo™ is the world's first laser to combine two distinct wavelengths (ablative and non-ablative) in a single treatment. This allows us to treat both the surface of your skin and the deeper tissue simultaneously. The result is that you can achieve the dramatic corrective results of a more aggressive ablative laser but with the minimal downtime associated with a gentle non-ablative laser. It truly is the best of both worlds for comprehensive skin rejuvenation.

Q: Why should I choose Vitality Kauai for Botox® or other injectable treatments? Our expertise in injectable treatments is validated by our consistent recognition as a top provider. For three consecutive years, Allergan (the maker of Botox®) has ranked Vitality Kauai in the top 10 in Hawaii. Our philosophy is to soften lines and wrinkles while preserving your natural facial movements, avoiding the "frozen face" look. Under the direction of Dr. Dilley, our skilled injectors provide artful, precise treatments to help you look refreshed and rejuvenated in a very natural way.

Q: You have two locations. Which one should I go to? Our dual-location model is designed to serve you best, wherever you are on the island.

  • Poipu Location (The Shops at Kukuiula): This is our main clinic and the hub for our most advanced, technology-based treatments. You should book at Poipu for services like Halo™, Forever Young BBL™, Morpheus8, and Laser Hair Removal.

  • North Shore Location (1 Hotel Hanalei Bay): This satellite location is tailored for wellness and rejuvenation, perfect for visitors or North Shore residents seeking treatments with minimal downtime. It is the exclusive home of our IV Therapy services and also offers a full suite of injectables, microneedling, and chemical peels.

Q: Why doesn't Vitality Kauai offer a membership program? At Vitality Kauai, our philosophy is centered on providing truly personalized, patient-centered care. We believe the best results come from creating a unique treatment plan tailored to your specific goals and evolving needs. While membership programs can provide some perceived perks, we are very conscious of the fact that they can also lead to clients paying for unappreciated services or treatments they don't truly need, ultimately wasting money. Our approach ensures that you only invest in the precise treatments that will deliver the most value and the best results for you, creating a more honest and effective partnership in your aesthetic journey.

Q: What is your cancellation policy? We understand that life happens and schedules can change. We kindly ask that you provide us with at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer the appointment time to another client. For treatments that take 90 minutes or longer (i.e., Halo, Microneedling, Morpheus8, etc) please provide at least 3 days notice. Late cancellation or no-shows will be subject to a fee.
